Typography
Font
The Helsinki Grotesk font is a separate, classic and timeless sans-serif type font that has been customised for Helsinki. Helsinki Grotesk is available in four typefaces: Regular, Medium, Bold and Black as well as an Italic of each typeface. The personal character of the serifs of the type font carries an evident link to idiom of the framed logo bows and graphic wave motif elements.
If Helsinki Grotesk is not available, then the Arial type font is used.
Arial is used e.g. in Office applications such as PowerPoint.
Subcontractors can acquire the necessary typefaces (licenses) at: hello@camelot-typefaces.com €65/typeface.
Text hierarchy
Headings
The line spacing of the heading must be the same as the point size of the font. If the body text is 10/12, then the smaller sub heading must be 15/15 and the main heading 30/30.
Body text
A line spacing of 120 % is used for
text masses. Thus, if the body text is 10 pt, then the line spacing is 12 pt.
Examples of font sizes for headings and body text
are shown here. If Helsinki Grotesk is not available, then the Arial type font
is used.
Use in applications such as brochures
The Helsinki Grotesk font is one of the most essential elements of the identity. In applications, sometimes just a typographic approach is in order and an excellent way of creating a strong message, e.g. on covers and posters.
