Description of the logo

The logo is a registered trademark and in this context we will be calling it the Helsinki framed logo.

The logo consists of the text Helsinki edged by the frame shape which in turn is derived from the City crest. Regardless of language the typeface is Helsinki Grotesk font. The entity, defined in proportions and arrangement, constitutes the official logo of Helsinki. The original files of the Helsinki framed logo are available for download at the bottom of this page. Please do not attempt to recreate the logo, and always use the appropriate original file.

The Helsinki framed logo is always used internationally in all of the City’s visual communications and marketing. A black and a white version of the Helsinki framed logo is typically used in most cases on all the City’s own and our partner materials.

It is important to recognise the bilingualism and that is why Helsinki has a bilingual version and a Swedish version of the logo. The bilingual version is only used in entirely bilingual materials or situations. The Swedish version is used in entirely Swedish situations and materials.
